You speak. The hall reads.

Speak in your own language. Everyone in the hall reads you live in theirs, on their own phone. The audience needs no app, but can read in the Atcha app.

How it works

  1. Start a talk on your phone

Choose the language you speak, and tap Go live when you begin.

  2. Show the QR code in the hall

Share the link, print the ticket or put it on the big screen.

  3. The audience reads in their language

Each reader chooses a language and follows the talk sentence by sentence, as text or speech.

What you get

The text on the big screen

Show the talk in one or two languages on the screen in the hall, with the QR code in the corner.

And thank you for coming.

Read aloud in the audience's language

Turn on Read aloud, and the audience can hear the translation on their phones, in the Atcha app even with the screen locked. Audio is made only for languages someone listens to.

A warning before time runs out

You are told 10 minutes before your time runs out, and can buy more without stopping the talk.

Names and terms

Add names and technical terms before the talk. Speech recognition gets them in advance, and the translation leaves them unchanged.

Up to 10 languages at once

The audience chooses from 110 languages. Up to 10 of them can be read in the same talk at once.

The same QR code every time

A room keeps its code. Print the QR code once and use it every week. Rooms that are not used for 90 days are deleted.

Questions and answers

Support

Does the audience need an app?

No. The audience scans the QR code or types the room code at atcha.me and reads in the browser, with no account. With the Atcha app on iPhone, the QR code opens the talk right in the app, and Listen works with the screen locked too.

Download Atcha on the App Store

Where can Atcha be used?

Wherever one person speaks and many listen: lectures, conferences, courses, meetings and parents' meetings. The speaker needs only a phone, and the audience reads on theirs.

Can Atcha replace an interpreter?

Atcha translates with AI, sentence by sentence, and the audience reads on their own phones, with no interpreter, booth or headsets. It suits one person speaking to many, such as a lecture or a parents' meeting. Where every word matters, as at the doctor or in court, a qualified interpreter is still needed.

How long is the delay?

The text arrives one sentence at a time, usually 2–4 seconds after the speaker has said it. On a slow network it can take longer.

Which languages can be used?

The audience can read 110 languages, and the speaker can talk in 84. The translation is made with AI and can contain mistakes, so names and technical terms can be added before the talk.

What happens when the time runs out?

You get a warning 10 minutes before. If you buy more time, the talk goes on without a pause. When the time is used up, the talk ends, and the audience can read the text for 24 hours.

Can I give the talk in the browser instead of the app?

Yes. Open atcha.me/speak on your phone or computer, and keep the screen on while you speak.

Use the browser

Where should the phone be?

Close to you. The text is made from what the microphone hears, so put the phone on the lectern or hold it in your hand. Say something before you go live, and you will see that the microphone hears you.

Does it work on Android?

The audience reads in the browser on any phone, Android included. Speakers can use the browser on Android. There is no Android app yet.

Can I get a refund?

Purchases in the iPhone app are refunded through Apple. The terms of sale explain how.
